RSV Learning Collaborative Call #3 (AIM)

The third Learning Collaborative discussion will take place on January 21 at 2 pm ET. AIM, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), hosts a Learning Collaborative to increase the capacity to equitably protect infants from serious illness and death due to RSV. Through understanding the challenges to birthing hospital participation in the VFC program and sharing promising practices, the collaborative hopes to increase birthing hospital participation in the VFC program and help to ensure that every newborn has the opportunity to be protected from RSV disease.
  

This call will focus on RSV vaccination care coordination through a multi-level clinical approach from obstetrics, labor and delivery, infants first clinical visit, and catching those babies born out of season who are now eligible for immunization. Boston Medical has taken a tried-and-true method from their flu vaccine program and applied it to the RSV vaccination making sure there are no missed opportunities. Speakers include:

  • Alison Blackman, PharmD, BCIDP, Clinical Pharmacy Manager, Infectious Diseases/Medicine 

The intended audiences for this call are immunization program managers, program staff, birthing hospitals, OBGYNs, pediatricians, nurse midwives, doulas, and national nonprofit partners.
