For Presbyterian Healthcare Services, National Flu Vaccination Week included two drive-up sites: one at a church (which also distributes free food), and one at East Central Ministries, which is a resource hub for residents of the International District. They have also connected with the Consulate of Mexico in Albuquerque and have set a flu vaccination site date for the third week of January 2021. Materials used included a flyer for each drive-up flu vaccination site, 7-foot banners indicating free flu vaccinations at each site, social media ads purchased, and flyers used in emails to community members and their list serves.
One challenge they have encountered is that they no longer have volunteer nurses to provide vaccination at their drive-up locations, so they are relying on their Community Health Medical Director for most clinics. As for successes, they are most proud of their ability to leverage their existing relationships with community organizations to help them stand up the drive-up flu vaccination clinics so quickly.
A fun fact about their city is that Albuquerque is known worldwide for their green chile and annual fall Balloon Fiesta.
